What is your favorite camera brand?

Hello and how the hell are you and if this is your first time here thanks for stopping by.  In this blog we are going to talk about what is your favorite camera brand.  This was a question that was asked of me on one of my posts.  I tried to answer it with as much of an answer as you are going to get here in this blog.  The best way to answer this question for me and how I shoot is the brand really doesn’t matter to me it is more about the features for me.  You see the camera is just a tool that we use to create what is in our heads.  The tool that we use has to have not only the features that you know will help you get your vision out there.

The best camera body that I have ever used was the one that I am shooting with right now.  I am shooting with the Canon 80d and a few good lenses that really help me get the job done.  The whole reason that I am shooting with this setup is simple it has the flip screen that I love.  It also has the auto exposure feature that I love.  The battery life on it is amazing to the point that I only have to charge my batters once a week.  Those three features are why I shoot Canon not because it is better.  In fact one of the biggest downfalls to shooting with an older Canon is the fact that the dynamic range sucks so bad on it.  The other downfall is the IQ is not as good as say Sony or Nikon at the moment.

If I was to still be shooting the Sony that I had for a while I would be in love with the eye auto focusing system that it offers you.  The features on it are just as good as what you get with the 80d.  The best advantage that I had with shooting that system was the light weight and compactness that it had.  The thing was so small and light that sometimes I forgot that I had it in my backpack.  Even with all that goodness that Sony gives you from IQ to the features it suck a battery dry in a matter of hours.  I mean dry there was nothing left after a few hours of shooting.  That is the main reason that I am not shooting with Sony right now.

Then you have Nikon which has the best IQ out of all the three major camera brands.  The images that I got with all the Nikons were my favorite to this day.  The dynamic range on that system is the best in the industry in my opinion.  The lack of features and ease of use was one of the main reasons that I stopped shooting with that brand.  The best part about shooting with a Nikon is the fact that the battery life was even better than what you get with Canon.  I mean I was going two weeks without charging my battery and I was shooting everyday with that system.

The system/brand that you choose to shoot is going to depend on what you want out of a camera not just because of the name of the system that you are shooting.  I mean let’s be real for a min if Nikon, Sony, and Canon all had a love baby I would buy that camera because I know that it would have all the goods for getting a great image.  The most important tool when going out to shoot is not the camera body or even the lens that you are using it is you.  So you have to be happy with what you are using to get the images that you want.  I was able to get the same type of images with all three brands so to me it really comes down to who has the features that I want and use all the time in order for me to be happy.

Right now it is Canon and in a few years when and if they get the battery issues worked out for Mirrorless it might be Sony that I am shooting with or even Nikon.  The features that I use all the time right now are why I am shooting with Canon and until the others make better features I am not going to switch anytime soon.  The one feature that I use the most is the flip screen on the 80d I just love it.  So now that you know why I am shooting with Canon what is your brand?  Do you even have a brand that you like?  Are you like me and pick depending on the features that you get with the brand?  Let me know in the comments why you are shooting with the brand that you have now and do you plan on changing brands.  I am not loyal to any brand I am loyal to my craft and the tools that I use to accomplish it.
