Hello and how the hell are you and if this is your first time here thanks for stopping by. In this blog we are going to talk about my story in St Johns AZ. There is so much to show and tell here and I am going to be doing a series of posts about this little town and all the history that you can see through the images that I will be taking of it. In this installment I am going to share some of the older buildings that it has and personal stories from me. I am just starting this project so this is going to be a fun adventure for you and me.
In this first image I was driving to work and noticed this old building and the door was just so cool. The tree that was growing out of it pulled me in. For months I was taking photo after photo of this place just waiting on the fall colors to hit it. I was drawn into the story that it told good or bad there is a lot that can be said about this old building. I love trying to figure out what the story is about this place. The tones of the turquoise and the orange leaves just popped when I took the photo. I edited the photo with that old rustic feel to it as I thought that it told more of the story that pulled me into it.

The next image is about fall as well and the story of trying to find the beauty by looking down. The amount of fall colors that you will find in St Johns is not like being on the east coast of the US during that time frame but there is still fall colors that you can find. I know that I looked like an idiot standing in a parking lot of a church with my camera pointing towards the ground but I was determined to get a great/epic fall photo of this little town. The purpose of the image was to say that you don’t need a great big vista to capture the feel of what fall is.

This image tells the story of the true money maker of this town. More people from what I am seeing are tied in some way to this power plant and how it helps with producing jobs for the town. The clouds that day just pulled me into this photo. I was thinking on how to truly capture this power plant the best way. The railroad tracks tell the story that this town has been here for a very long time and how it really shaped the town. I have to admit that I am not sure just how long they have been there but I can tell you that I felt like I was back in the old west lol.

This image to me tells the story of what is very rare here in the Southwest. I was driving to work and man I was in seventh heaven with all the fog that was around me. The feeling of peace was just screaming to me when I noticed the sun breaking through the thick fog. I stopped at this tree lined up the shot and the rest is well history. I found that when the sun breaks through the fog it omits a warm glow all around you and its like someone you lost is hugging you. This was the feeling that I had during this shot. You see at that moment I felt my moms arms around me again telling me that it is all going to be ok. This image will always have a special place in my heart. I would have never had that feeling if we never moved to St Johns. Enjoy y’all
