Embrace the Noise in your Photography
Hello and how the hell are you? If this is your first time here thanks for stopping by. In this blog we are going to be talking about embracing the noise in your Photogrpahy. No I am not talking about the people shouting at the roof tops criticizing the work that you are shooting. I am talking about just letting lose with how you are shooting. You see when you first start out in photography we are all told that we need to shoot at a lower ISO. This will allow you to keep the noise in your images down for a cleaner polished loo to them.

Breaking free
This is great advice and it got me so many good images through the years. It also cost me so much money over the years trying to get the best gear for those cleaner images. I was a freak when it came to getting a noise free image. This also stopped me from getting so many shots because I didn’t have the tripod and shooting handheld was not going to happen. After wasting all that time and money it hit me one day why am I trying to force my shot.
You see I was still missing shots because I could not get my setting right to stop the action in low light. I was also wasting time lusting over that newer better camera body or lens. I was holding myself back to the point that I was seeing the images. I was just so scared of shooting at a higher iso due to people online telling me that my images sucked because of the noise in them. This was the point that I decided it was my art and I wanted to have a certain look to my images.

Embrace your style
I wanted my images to reflect who I was and that is when I embraced the noise in all my images. I grew up in the 90’s and all the disposable cameras that you could buy were contrasty and had a lot of noise in them. The colors were rich and vibrant. The shadows were dark and the highlights bloomed like no other so why the hell was I trying to shoot the way others told me to. Why was I worried about what they said and what they thought. I wanted my images to have MY PERSONALITY to them. I wanted my art to be noticed by my followers and people that liked my style of shooting.

Making your vision come to life
There is nothing more freeing when you actually take your photography into your own hands. The vision that you have for your work is unique and unmatched by anyone else. Yes they could have all the same gear as you but they will never have the same eye as you. They will never be able to see the images the way that you do. Just like life experiences they will never have your look on the world so stop trying to conform to what they want you to.

Make your photos the way you want
I embraced the noise and let the grain/noise show in my work. I edited the images to reflect my personal taste of the 90’s look to them. I wanted my work to speak to who I am not what others told it should look like. I in a sense went back to the 90’s not giving a fuck and just being who you are no matter what other thought of you. The one thing that you will notice when I am shooting images for me there will be more noise than normal in them. The photos that I shoot for others the noise is really not even in the photos and the reason for that is I have to hold a certain standard for the industry that I am in for those images.

The act of embracing the noise is freeing and appealing to a lot of people on this planet that we live on. Your unique vision is what will set you apart from others even at those honey pot locations across this planet. How are you going to set yourself free other than embracing the noise let me now in the comments and lets talk about it. Remember enjoy from St Johns AZ y’all.
